On August 3, 2010 MCSA received an award from Martin County Sheriff Bob Crowder for their generous contribution to the Martin County Sheriff's Office.  Bob Vassollo, Jim Dunn and Bill Cole attended the ceremony and accepted the award for MCSA.  MCSO and MCSA have had a  relationship since 1978.

MCSA GUEST POLICY, July 25, 2010

Starting on 7/25/10 the MCSA Guest Policy will be as follows:

1.       5 guests per year…no guest more than twice.

2.      Only 1 guest per visit. There is no charge for a guest. Guests are welcome any day.

3.      Member sign in and guest and Member sign in Guest page.

4.      Check in with RSO to get Range Briefing and fill out additional forms.  Do not bring guns or ammo from your car until told OK by RSO.  Member and guest will follow RSO’s instructions.

5.      RSO will then escort Member and guest to Range of their choice and observe. If RSO is busy with other duties, Member and guest will be asked to wait.

6.      Member is responsible for the guest at all times at MCSA.

MCSA OFFERS NRA COURSES

 

Take an NRA course from MCSA NRA Certified Instructors.

All with 2 instructors and 4 students, course materials included.

 

Courses include:

 

  • Pistol…3 hours basic juniors, $90 each
  • Pistol…8 hours adult advanced $130 each
  • Rifle…3 hours basic juniors $90 each
  • Rifle…14 hours adult advanced $200 each
  • Shotgun…3 hours basic juniors $90 each
  • Shotgun…10 hours adult advanced $160 each
  • Home Firearm Safety…4 hours $100 each
  • Personal Protection in the Home…8 hours $140 each
  • Personal Protection Outside the Home…20 hours $300 each
  • Range Safety Officer

 

 

MCSA sponsors these NRA training courses conducted by our NRA Certified Instructors. Successful completion of a training course will include an NRA Certificate. A pistol certificate may be used as part of a Florida Concealed Carry Application. This program is available to MCSA Members and their families. Non-MCSA members please add $25 for each class. Private lessons $35 fee plus $25 per hour.

MCSA is proud of our NRA Certified Range Officers. They provide a real service to our Members, both new and old. In recognition of their valuable service, the Board will award all Range Officers a complimentary membership in 2010.

The “Buffalo Target” on Range 4 is to be used by our members who have requested the RO to unlock it, you must use LEAD bullets, NO copper jacketed or solid copper bullets, the shooter must leave his membership card with the RO and will be responsible for any damage to the target.

Boy Scouts and Youth Program

Glen Rubin is in the process of organizing programs to teach
youth’s safe firearm handling and marksmanship and to provide organized merit
badge and marksmanship programs for the Boy Scouts.
Any member interested in helping out with this program or knows of individuals
or groups which may be interested in participating are encourage to contact

  • MONTHLY STEEL SHOOT

            Beginning January 2009, shoots will be the third Saturday of each

             month instead of  the second Saturday, starting at 8:00 AM.

           The block wall advertising program is picking up.  Were now one third of our way 

             to our goal of thirty signs.  We encourage all members to do business with our

             from their ad at the range.

  • A reminder, the range will be closed on Christmas Day, Thanksgiving and Easter.
  • The Board is interested in how the members feel about MCSA and the range. Please feel free to offer your suggestions, criticism, concerns, etc. to any of the Officers. You can contact them by email through the web site or get their phone number in the range office.
  • Members may also have something they would like to see put on the web site. The Board will not promise to post all requests but will seriously consider all.
  • CIVILIAN MARKSMENSHIP PROGRAM---

            MCSA is affiliated with the CMP. As a member of MCSA you can purchase

            firearms and ammo from the CMP and have your purchase shipped directly to

            your home. CMP is a great source for military surplus rifles, ammo and

            publications.

            You can download an order form from the CMP web site; order forms. Fill out

            the order form (the CMP must list the item you want as available!) and get

             together with Dave Lester (he is the CMP contact person and Saturday morning

             RO) for his signature, if you have not ordered through them before. Then you

             will send the order to the CMP directly and they will ship direct to you. If you

             cannot download, forms should be available at the range office.

·         MCSA will be taking orders for United States of America flags on behalf of American Legion Post 355, Port Saint Lucie, Fl. These are high quality, 3 ft by 5 ft flags for $20, all proceeds go directly to the American Legion, place your order and pay at the Range Office.    

  • T-Shirts for sale at the Range office…$10 ea.

·         A moving Duck Shooting Gallery is now available for plinking, .22 LR only, we also have a supply of Bowling Pins for big bore shooters.  See the Ro on duty to take a shot at these new targets.
